After nearly 8 years of creating Sewers Club subscription boxes, starting in September 2018, it’s time to say goodbye to our subscription programs. This decision hasn’t come lightly, and it’s bittersweet for all of us.
With United States tariff rules changing week to week, it has become increasingly difficult to keep up with ever-changing tariff rates and shipping requirements. The Trump administration is ending the $800 de minimis exception on August 29th, meaning that every item we now ship to you, will be subject to tariffs at varying rates. This is not cost-effective or feasible for us and our members. Since a large portion of our subscribers are located in the United States, these challenges make it unsustainable to continue the programs for only Canadians, and other international members.
Here’s what this means for you:
Monthly Project Box
- United States Subscribers: Last box will be September 2025 (Ships end of August). Subscriptions will be cancelled August 20th. Prepaid subscriptions will be refunded by September 1st.
- Canada & International Subscribers: Last box will be October 2025 (Ships end of September). Subscriptions will be cancelled September 20th. Prepaid subscriptions will be refunded by October 1st.
Stash Builder
- United States Subscribers: Subscriptions will be cancelled August 20th.
- Canada & International Subscribers: Subscriptions will be cancelled November 20th.
Thread of the Month
- All subscriptions will be cancelled August 20th. Last box will be August 2025 (Shipped early August).
If you have a prepaid subscription that qualifies for a refund, we’ll process it manually on our end. Due to the number of cancellations, we kindly ask for your patience as we work through all of them.
We know this is disappointing news, and we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of Sewers Club. For many of you, this has been years of creativity, sewing projects, and happy mail days. We’ve loved every stitch of it.

Will I still receive my last box?
Yes! Please refer to the dates above to see when your subscription will end. -
Will I still have access to the project tutorials?
Yes, all past videos will remain up. -
When will I get my refund?
If you have a prepaid subscription that qualifies for a refund, we’ll process it manually. Refunds for U.S. subscribers will be issued by September 1st. Refunds for Canada & International subscribers will be issued by October 1st. Due to the large volume of cancellations, please be patient as we work through them.

Do I need to do anything?
No, all cancellations and refunds will happen automatically. -
How will I receive my refund?
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used when you purchased your subscription. -
How are refunds determined?
All prepaid subscriptions with outstanding shipments will be refunded. Refunds will be based on the number of boxes you won’t receive. For example, if you purchased 3 boxes and only 1 ships, you’ll be refunded the value of the remaining 2 boxes. -
I’m on a month-to-month plan — do I get a refund?
No. Month-to-month (pay-as-you-go) subscriptions are only charged for the box you’re receiving that month, so no refunds are required. -
Can I switch my subscription to something else instead?
Unfortunately, all subscription programs are ending and will not be replaced with an alternative subscription service. -
Will Sewers Club still sell sewing products?
Yes! Our regular store will remain open for orders, kits, and other sewing items. Only subscription programs are ending. -
Will you bring the subscriptions back if tariffs change again?
We can’t make any promises, but we’re always open to revisiting the idea if shipping costs and tariff rules make it possible in the future. -
What if my last box doesn’t arrive?
If your last box is lost or delayed, please contact our support team and we’ll work with you to make it right.
